6 Thanksgiving Tips to Make your Holiday Easier

Thanksgiving Day can be tricky, thinking you have all the time in the world, because you are not eating till 2! Then all of a sudden it’s 1:30, you’re still in your sweats, you have flour covering your entire body, and because of this you lose it on your family, or at least that is how it has gone at my house a few times… I have a few Thanksgiving tips to make your day go a little smoother!

6 Thanksgiving Tips to Make your Day Easier

  1. Cook/bake anything you can the night before while children are sleeping, and cannot “help” I have learned with whatever assignments I am given I try to do at least 1 if not 2 the night before. I always do my jello the night before and even my candied yams I just put them in the fridge and then throw them in the oven right before dinner!

  2. Make a list and check it TWICE of all the things that need to be done, got, cooked, and whatever else! This goes for everything, not just the groceries!

  3. I like to have my grocery shopping done by Monday, and don’t doubt I click list it! Order it online and pick it up whenever you desire!

  4. Have you and your kids outfits picked out, prior to the day of. This for me is a big one, that way I am not stressing about what I am going to wear. After my cooking is done I head upstairs get ready and don’t even how to think about what to put on me or my kids, because it is already done!

  5. Remember to do things the day before that can be done in advance. If you are hosting you could set your table, and have the serving dishes you are going to use out and ready.

  6. Last, but not least, for the next couple weeks, really think about what you are Thankful for, and jot them dow,, so when it comes your turn to say what you are thankful for and you are so stuffed you can barely talk, let alone think, you will already know what it is your thankful for! Hope you are all looking forward to this wonderful Holiday of Gratitude, and that it can be as stress free and enjoyable as possible!
